A Weird Feeling
So it seems, and I'm positive I'm not the only one that gets this, that because I've started working at a shelter and I'm a Dog Blog writer, that I'm immediately the go-to lad when it comes to pets, or social media. All of a sudden Iam the authority on training, which dog breed to get, where I can get this dog from, or how can I get an occupation like yours ?
Don't misunderstand me, I don't have a problem with it, it's just interesting. What's also unusual is that a lot of people go into owning a pet without doing much research into it at all, hence why a number of dogs end up in shelters. I don't know about everyone else, but I'm frequently scouring the Internet, hanging on dog trainers every single words and checking out websites and other websites to learn as much as possible.
When I had my one-on-one with a dog trainer for the first session at a training school she was at a loss as to what to explain to me. Why? I had done my homework. Generally they have to cover all the basics first, such as nutrition, poop training etc. The way I see it, owning a pet is like having a kid, you are responsible for a life, shouldn't you do your research first?
Take my personal coach for instance, she wants to get a puppy, so she has asked me to keep a look out for her. I have no problem with doing this, but it's interesting that she seems to want the doggy as a training mate, but not just running or working out, but full on training! I'm talking, weightlifting, etc.
. When you first got your pet, what were your reasons behind it? Did you do your research first?
Thanks you for reading!
